Rediscovering Happiness-Gratitude Challenge (updated)

***UPDATED – Now includes 30-day challenge below****

If you missed part 1 of this series you can find it HERE

January 1st, the first day of a new year. New beginnings a head. A chance for a fresh start. And the end of all the Christmas and New Year hype. Tomorrow life will return to ‘normal’ or ‘as usual’. As I mentioned in part 1 of this series that January is often a hard month for people. This is why we are going to participate in a 30-day gratitude challenge toward rediscovering happiness together.

If you read my blog about the brain and neuroplasticity Brain (part 1) and Brain (part 2)  you will know that it takes about 21 days to create a new habit or routine. That is why we are going to complete a 30-day challenge in an attempt to create new pathways in our brain that encourage and support happiness.

There is much research about the importance of gratitude and reflection. If you are interested HERE is an article on some of the benefits of gratitude.

  1. Day 4: meditation will be rain sounds for sleeping; gratitudes include support of friends (including this journal), my cat sleeping on my duvet while I write, and eating (with many choices) when I am hungry. What makes me relax? running, hot showers, rain music, tea, time with cats/dogs, animals, blogging and writing, candles, baking, snow falling, time alone, cozy blankets, and lavender diffuser.
